Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the building of modular construction units. This role requires someone who is very handy, capable of performing various tasks, and able to assist tradespeople as needed. You will be working with hand and power tools, performing basic wiring, plumbing, assembly, and building tasks. There are opportunities for growth and advancement in various skilled jobs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the construction of modular units.

• Perform a variety of tasks using hand and power tools.

• Conduct basic wiring and plumbing tasks.

• Assemble and build units as required.

• Support tradespeople with various tasks.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with construction, renovations, and using hand and power tools.

• 3-5+ years of experience in carpentry, framing, electrical wiring, plumbing, or general construction.

• Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and framing tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on construction sites or outdoors.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Versatile renovation experience across different types of work.

Work Environment

You will primarily work outdoors in the yard and in the bays, which can be subject to varying weather conditions. The role requires personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots and typical construction clothing such as long sleeve shirts. The day shift runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gormley, Ontario.
