As a construction project manager, you will be responsible by providing planning, project management and financial oversight of new store buildouts or renovation construction projects while maintaining the highest standards of excellence. Manages the construction process so that projects are completed on time and within budget.
As a construction project manager, you will:
Apply skills, tools, and techniques to project activities in order to be accountable to project goals.
Drive projects and lead teams while delivering quality, integrity, reliability, and efficiency.
Manage projects through company standards with focus on time, scope quality and cost.
Works cross-functionally with all team members of the Store Development and Operations business units.
Remain current on and inform construction process standards and methodologies.
Understand and stay current on knowledge of the business unit, construction industry, trade groups, current events, and economic climate to ensure fiscally responsible decision-making and maintain our brand standards.
Autonomously pulls together and leverages available tools and resources for managing and problem-solving ambiguous situations.
Assess the value of each task and differentiate between urgent and important to adapt and establish project team deliverables.
Understand and contribute to the needs of key stakeholders and communicate accordingly throughout the project lifecycle.
Embody and promote a growth mindset, contributing to a positive and productive work environment and coach others to do the same.
Drive decision making that cultivates alignment over consensus building, with support from manager.
Foster teamwork through clear and purposeful communication within the project team and coach others to do the same.
Coach and develop project specialist team in partnership with people leader
We'd love to hear from people with:
Progressive experience in a role performing project management job functions, including permitting and approvals, 7 years
Experience in a role delivering 15 or more projects in a retail or restaurant environment (QSR) , 5 years
Bidding and negotiating construction projects, 7 years
Financial analysis, budgeting and planning for construction projects, 5 years
MS outlook, MS Excel and project or construction management programs such as MS project, 5 years
Ability to travel to construction sites, locally and remote.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Project Management:
Strong project management skills
Ability to influence and meet project deliverables
Ability to understand and work within a project budget
Data Management:
Ability to work within a construction database, reporting and order management software
Ability to interpret and make fundamental assessments and decisions based on data and reports
Construction Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of construction terms and concepts
Full understanding of industry and construction best practices and standards
Ability to lead all construction activities in areas of responsibility and work as part of a team
Technical Skills:
-Regular capital plan updates and forecasts
-Project Budgets
-Reinvestment Modeling
-General Contractor bidding/negotiation
-Manage LL work
-Delivery of Possession
-LEED Documentation
-Fixed Asset Updates
-Punch list and turnover to Operations
-Project reconciliation
-Vendor / GC management
-Develop / maintain jurisdictional relationships
