Job Title: Construction Equipment Operator

Rate Range: $37.04 - $39.00 - $40.97 Hourly

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates light earth-moving equipment, for example backhoe, dump truck, side boom, and tamper

• Duties include operating and maintenance of said equipment

• Transportation of equipment and/or materials

• Assists crew with installation and repair of mains and services

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications for Position

• Class A CDL required

• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate company vehicles.

• Must be capable of passing applicable physical capacity tests.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through on assignments with limited direction.

• Requires the ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities.

• Must be able to document records and understand written and oral communications.

• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge and/or experience of hand tools is required.

• Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult customer situations with tact and diplomacy is required.

Residency Requirements

Due to the nature of our business and your emergency response obligations, the successful candidate must live within 25 miles or 30 minutes from the Operating Center and maintain permanent residence in this living requirement while employed by Columbia Gas. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

• Computer software experience.

• Experience in field operations within natural gas industry or in the plumbing trade
