  • What You'll Do

    The Configuration Analyst II is a multi-functional role working directly with business and IT teams to craft, build and maintain critical processes within configurable systems. This role will be responsible for providing technical solutions, configuration, and consultation for purposes of designing, developing, testing, and implementing products within a wide range of configurable systems.

    • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices for security and privacy.

    • Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.

    • Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify future needs and opportunities for desktop tools or data-based solutions.

    • Optimize data flow and collection to improve data quality and efficiency.

    • Provide support and mentorship to team members.

    • Utilize problem-solving skills and work independently on complex projects.

    • Communicate and collaborate across teams.

    • Implement and maintain products rules, functions, and transactional processes. Utilize product subject matter expertise in all facets while ensuring best practices and standards at met.

    • Consult with internal business partners (such as finance, IT, and operations) for product development, enhancements, issues, and prioritization.

    • Troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise.

    • Develop and maintain testing desktop tools and/or bots for use by team members and other internal and external business partners.

    • Provide coaching and training to team members.

    Who You Are

    • 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred with preference in math or technology related field.

    • Strong Project Management skills - turn a problem into a solution and execute.

    • Basic technical understanding of Defined Benefit products including systems and processes relating to the life cycle of a plan.

    • Self-starter who can work independently as well as working on a cross-functional team with other roles at all job levels.

    • Experience with cloud services (Azure, Snowflake, AWS) and data warehousing solutions.

    • Basic experience with SQL (relational databases), Excel/VBA, XML, or similar tools.

    • Visual Analytic Tools (SAS Viya, Power BI, Tableau)

    • Intermediate - advanced Excel (VBA, pivot tables, formulas, Power Query etc) or similar tools

    • SAS Enterprise Guide Experience.

    • Ability to provide advice for the purposes of solving organizational problems and implementing solutions.

    • Ability to affect the actions, behavior, or opinions of other people or groups, directly or indirectly.

    • Excellent problem solving, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.

    • Communicate effectively with various internal/external teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Past experience in a data engineering role, with demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

    • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.

    • Python, R, StudioX, and UiPath experience.

    • Access data base knowledge.

    • Strong formal or informal leadership experience.

    Salary Range Information

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

    $63750 - $152000 / year

    Time Off Program

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    Configuration Analyst III

    • 4+ years of related work experience.

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred with preference in math or technology related field.

    • Intermediate experience with SQL (relational databases), Excel/VBA, XML or similar tools.

    Configuration Analyst IV

    • 6+ years of related work experience.

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with preference in math or technology related field strongly preferred.

    • Expert experience with SQL (relational databases), Excel/VBA, XML, or similar tools.

    Work Environments

    This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC).
