Job Description

• Building structures: Masons use brick, block, stone, and concrete to build structures like walls, chimneys, walkways, and frames.

• Preparing materials: Masons cut, shape, and dress materials to meet client specifications. They also categorize materials like granite, limestone, marble, sandstone, and slate.

• Mixing and preparing: Masons mix cement, mortar, and bricks for structures. They may also use chemical additives to speed up the drying process.

• Interpreting drawings: Masons read and follow technical drawings to guide their work.

• Maintaining tools and workspaces: Masons keep their tools and workspaces in good condition.

• Lifting and carrying: Masons move heavy materials like concrete blocks, bricks, and stones from place to place.

• Dig trenches

• Mix and pour concrete

• Set forms

• Finish concrete

• Operate chipping guns

• Lift heavy materials

• Must be comfortable working outdoors
