    Where you'll work:

    You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.

    An average day:

    As COMSEC Custodian II, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and equipment in an environment that spans domestic and international infrastructures and data centers. This role supports the safeguarding of sensitive information by maintaining compliance with federal regulations and security standards, contributing to the success of a large enterprise effort. You will work with senior team members to ensure proper handling, distribution, and accountability of COMSEC assets, providing operational support in day-to-day activities. Additionally, in this position you will:

    • Assist in the management and distribution of COMSEC materials, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

    • Perform routine audits and inspections of COMSEC and classified materials assets to maintain security standards.

    • Help maintain accurate records and documentation related to COMSEC and classified material handling policies, procedures, and inventory management.

    • Support the development and implementation of COMSEC procedures and training for team members.

    • Monitor COMSEC equipment status and escalate issues to senior personnel as needed.

    • Provide guidance to staff on the proper handling of COMSEC and classified materials and secure communication systems.

    • Support compliance reporting and incident response activities related to COMSEC security breaches.

    • Assist with the coordination of COMSEC repairs, replacements, or upgrades as needed.

    • Work with federal and contractor personnel to ensure ongoing compliance with security standards.

    • Assist with regular audits and inspections to ensure COMSEC policies and procedures are being followed, and produce audit findings reports for distribution to Senior Leadership.

    • Participate in the distribution and destruction of classified materials per Government defined policy.

    • Coordinate with other security departments and external agencies.

    • Support the Design, implement, and update new COMSEC policies and procedures, with Government oversight and approval.

    • Participate in risk assessments and suggest improvements to enhance COMSEC security measures.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in COMSEC management or related security discipline.

    • Knowledge of COMSEC policies, procedures, and federal regulations.

    • Experience with key management systems (KMS) and familiarity with cryptographic devices.

    • Working knowledge of secure communications equipment such as secure telephone units (STUs) and encryption devices.

    • Understanding of risk management frameworks like NIST SP 800-53 or RMF.

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.

    • Ability to work in a collaborative environment while managing individual responsibilities.

    • Proficiency with relevant software applications used in COMSEC management.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

    • Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
