    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position is responsible for planning and executing internal and external communications plans that flow through the corporate communications function with a focus on global impact. The person who fills this role works as a key member of the corporate communications team with responsibility in helping to deliver the global impact strategy and the company's external and internal PR and digital communications efforts with a focus on a team approach to elevating the Hormel Foods reputation, and its brands, around the world.

    • Supports the design and execution of the content strategy for companywide and external communications.

    • Produces content and works cross functionally to tailor high-level internal and external communications materials for the different brands, projects, announcements, changes, etc.

    • Coordinates communications with the other areas and members of the department and provides back up for managers and team members as needed.

    • Responsible for handling confidential information and developing copy for press releases and other key announcements.

    • Develops key internal and external messages for global impact stakeholders.

    • Analyzes, reports and recommends strategies based on content performance and trends.

    • Researches, investigates and determines impact and sentiment for global impact topics on an enterprise-wide scale.

    • Incumbent builds and facilitates relationships between internal partners and external agencies for the advancement of corporate and brand initiatives.

    • Provides style and photography direction and assists with art direction for creative development.

    Level of position will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a related field.

    • 3+ years of experience in Communications.

    • Successful experience in communications, leading high-level public relations projects and communications strategies in a fast-paced business environment preferred.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and keen eye for detail.

    • Demonstrated effective persuasive and relationship building skills.

    • Strong organization and time management skills.

    • Demonstrated high level of initiative and ability to work independently.

    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and leadership skills.

    • Strong knowledge of corporate responsibility/social impact topics.

    • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

    Location: Global Headquarters, Austin MN

    A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.
