Job Summary:

The Commercial Roofing Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and ensuring that materials, equipment, and tools are properly organized, stored, and distributed for roofing projects. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to effectively manage warehouse staff, maintain inventory levels, and coordinate with the project and field teams to meet project needs and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Operations Management:
  • Supervise the daily activities of warehouse staff, including shipping, receiving, and storing of materials.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are prepared and delivered on time for roofing projects.
  • Monitor and maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Inventory Control:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to identify discrepancies.
  • Manage reorder points and coordinate with procurement for timely material restocking.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and tracking of inventory.
  • Partner with the inventory specialist to ensure inventory operations are correct.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide training, guidance, and supervision to warehouse staff.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to promote a productive and efficient work environment.
  • Schedule shifts and assign daily tasks to warehouse personnel.
• Logistics Coordination:
  • Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and vendors for the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of delivery trucks, ensuring proper handling of materials.
  • Manage transportation logistics for roofing materials and equipment, including the scheduling of deliveries to job sites.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Track equipment usage and organize maintenance schedules.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Promote and enforce compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and other industry standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections of warehouse areas and equipment.
  • Report and address any potential safety hazards or incidents.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, damaged goods, and team performance.
  • Manage warehouse documentation such as receipts, invoices, and shipping logs.
  • Use warehouse management software or systems to track inventory and workflow.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in commercial roofing or construction.
• Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of roofing materials and equipment is a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse setting with occasional visits to job sites.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions when handling outdoor deliveries.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Able to work different schedules to meet warehouse needs.
