  • About The Role

    As a Team Lead you are responsible for motivating, coaching, and encouraging employees. By your leadership, the goals, purpose, and vision for the employees will be brought into focus and executed by your ability to collaborate and build relationships.

    As a Senior Account Manager , you will be responsible for managing and growing a book of business while aiding with the strategic vision of our core verticals.

    This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on account management, sales with team leadership and delivering exceptional client experiences. This role reports to the Vice President Commercial Lines in Oakville office.

    What You'll Do

    • Manage an assigned book of business; serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for a portfolio of mid-market to complex clients; responsible for maintaining key client and insurer relationships.

    • Creating effective strategies to address client transactions, negotiations and ability to lead discussions.

    • Assume various roles dependent on account including marketing, account back up, lead brokers etc.

    • Participating in underwriter/client meetings, both in person and online; client presentations and advocacy for clients during the claims process.

    • Negotiate with insurers on coverage and price as to best meet the needs of the client in conjunction with the producer, assisting clients to select amongst competing quotes.

    • Provide feedback for the annual budget planning process and monthly forecasting.

    • Collaboration with account team including coaching and mentoring.

    • Provide a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates talent.

    • Support the team in achieving their highest performance potential.

    What You'll Need for Success

    • RIBO Licensed

    • CIP, FCIP, CAIB or CRM Designation desired (or working towards)

    • Minimum 5 years' commercial insurance experience

    • Experience on Epic broker management system or other BMS

    • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    • Ability to manage and mentor staff

    • Strong organizational, time and client management skills

    • Effective communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills

    • Proactive and customer focused approach

    • Resourceful researching skills

    • Analytical and strong decision-making skills

    • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance industry trends

    • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel for client meetings and industry events
