COLLEGE ACCESS SPECIALIST, TRIO EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTERS (EOC)(Grant Funded)
Highland Community College is seeking a dedicated and motivated
College Access Specialist to join our TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) team. This is a full-time, grant-funded position with a focus on providing essential college access services to individuals across
Ogle, Carroll, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties. If you're passionate about guiding individuals toward their educational and career goals, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and lead outreach events, informational sessions, and recruitment activities for prospective EOC participants.
- Provide academic advising, financial literacy guidance, and referrals to help participants prepare for college.
- Offer support for college preparation, including ACT/SAT preparation, college application and scholarship assistance, and financial aid applications.
- Develop and deliver workshops on topics like academic success, career development, and financial literacy.
- Assist participants in setting and achieving their personal, educational, and career goals.
- Provide resources and strategies to enhance career awareness, exploration, and job search skills.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, sociology, or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience working with low-income, first-generation students, other disadvantaged populations, or in a TRIO program setting.
- Strong ability to work with a diverse population of students and staff.
- Valid driver's license.
- This role requires a criminal background check.

Compensation: $36,388 - $54,582
