Collection Specialist

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist with experience in professional lending, housing, credit, and financial services. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients to resolve outstanding debts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts, utilizing effective collection techniques and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

• Conduct thorough account reviews to assess client situations and determine appropriate collection strategies.

• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in writing to negotiate payment plans and settlements.

• Analyze financial information to identify payment solutions and provide clients with tailored options.

• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and update account information in the system.

• Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and customer service, to resolve client issues and facilitate timely payments.

• Identify and report trends in collections performance, recommending improvements to processes as necessary.

• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving disputes in a professional manner.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of [X] years of experience in collections, lending, housing, credit, or financial services.

Strong knowledge of financial products, credit reporting, and collections regulations.

Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations.

Proficient in using collection software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
