JOB SUMMARY:CMM Programmer and Operator is a quality professional that is responsible for ensuring that RWB products meet the established quality standards and specifications. The CMM Programmer and Operator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of manufactured components by programming, operating, and maintaining all plant Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The CMM Programmer/Operator shall routinely assist in performing inspections, tests, and measurements on finished product, materials, or components to ensure that they meet the required quality specifications.
In addition to programming and operating CMM's, this position is critical to monitor the launch of new programs and to assist with the maintenance of the ISO QMS when required. They are also responsible for identifying and addressing quality issues, as well as helping to implement corrective actions. The CMM Programmer and Operator shall work closely with other members of the quality team to ensure that the quality standards are met throughout the production process.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and optimize measurement programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using Zeiss Calypso software.
· Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to create measurement routines that accurately capture dimensional data.
· Utilize advanced features and capabilities of CMM software to automate measurement processes, improve efficiency, and minimize programming time.
· Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand component requirements, inspection criteria, and any special measurement considerations.
· Experience in programming strategies such as pallet programming, positional programming, para- file programming is a plus
· Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform accurate dimensional inspections on manufactured components.
· Load components onto the CMM, select appropriate measuring probes and fixtures, and execute programmed measurement routines.
· Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify conformance to quality standards and customer requirements.
· Monitor CMM equipment during operation, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
· Support Calibration by measuring gauges.
· Support APQP and PPAP activities (supplier and internal).
· Routinely conduct First Article Inspections and support in-process inspection when required
· Generate comprehensive inspection reports documenting measurement results, deviations from specifications, and any non-conformities found during inspections.
· Analyze measurement data and collaborate with quality engineers and production teams to identify root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
· Adhere to established quality procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain consistency and reliability in inspection processes.
· Participate in continuous improvement projects for the quality assurance department
· Creating work instructions for machinists, inspectors, and operators for setting up parts on the CMM.

Skills and Competencies:
Education:
· Associates in Engineering Discipline or equivalent certification/work experience.
Experience:
· Proven experience in CMM programming and operation in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen principles is a plus
Computer Skills:
· Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., Calypso) for programming measurement routines and analyzing measurement data.
· Writing and computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, etc.) to support the requirements of the job.
· Proficient in using SolidWorks Catia or other CAD software is a plus
Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:
· Strong understanding of engineering drawings, CAD models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and metrology principles.
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex measurement data and identify discrepancies or non-conformities.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to established procedures and standards.

Solid understanding of machine processes and cutting tools.
