Clinical Data Associate (Full-Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the direction of the Manager and other team members, develops standard and ad hoc reports and presentations, and performs analyses to assist with process improvement efforts.

• Supports initiatives as assigned by the division.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.

• Continuous: sitting.

• Occasional: standing, walking, stooping/bending, lifting and carrying usual weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, epidemiology, statistics, computer science or related field; or four (4) years experience in business, finance, or healthcare may be substituted for the educational requirement.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, one (1) year experience performing quantitative and analytical work.

• Experience to demonstrate:

o Ability to develop and maintain PC worksheets of high complexity.

o Ability work collaboratively with a broad range of people to accomplish assigned tasks effectively and efficiently with high quality customer service.

o Effective written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills.

• Knowledge of industry coding standards (e.g. ICD; CPT; HCPCS; NDC; SNOMED) preferred.

• Experience producing and interpreting SPC Charts preferred.

• Knowledge of descriptive statistical methods preferred.

• Experience creating charts/graphs in Excel, SAS, R or other analytic tools preferred.

• Knowledge of quality control methods preferred.
