Clinical Coder

Description

The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with an Indianapolis based company to add a Clinical Coder to their team. This position is fully remote but you will need to live in Indiana as there are some onsite requirements.

Hours: Flexible hours between 6am - 6pm Monday -Friday

Responsibilities for the position include the following

• Codes patient encounters using SDC, OBS, IP, clinical, and PT coding systems.

• Reviews medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper code assignment.

• Abstracts codes using the 3M coding software.

• Runs and balances daily transaction posting reports.

• Identifies and reports compliance issues to manager.

Requirements

• 2-4 Years related coding experience required

• Certified Coding Specialist certification or Certified Professional Coder certification required

• RHIT certification preferred

• Prior experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred

• Athena experience a MUST

• Do not need clinical experience
