The role involves serving as a Clinical/Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in a physician practice, specifically in a primary care sports medicine and/or orthopaedic clinical setting. The LAT, in the appropriate state, acts under the supervision of a physician and must adhere to the protocols and guidelines required by the licensing agency. These protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician, reviewed annually, and kept on file with the state licensing agency. The LAT works within their scope of practice in the primary care sports medicine and/or orthopaedic clinic.
Qualifications:
Education Level
| 4-Year / Bachelor's Degree | Required | Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or equivalent from a CAATE-accredited program. |
| Graduate Degree | Preferred
Experience
| 1 Year | Required | Minimum of one year of experience as a certified athletic trainer, including participation in various administrative, educational, or medical support services.
Physician extender background and experience with electronic medical records.
