Primary Responsibilities:
Exceed annual sales goal by identifying new opportunities and growing current established business with assigned key clients
Cross functional collaboration with Optum Life Sciences Business Teams to strategically sell, negotiate and execute deals
Primary point of contact for clients and responsible for client relationship management
Identify and develop solid working relationships with multiple key stakeholders and decision makers including C-Suite Executives
Utilize consultative selling skills to share Optum's value story and portfolio of value offerings
Understand client's new and continued priorities, focused therapy areas, changes in organization leadership, contracting and procurement process, and obstacles working with the client
Ensure Optum understands the client's strategic objectives and the initiatives that support the business strategy
Partner with client delivery teams to ensure client expectations of service and execution are clearly understood, communicated, and met
Provide input to relevant Optum colleagues on market trends as represented by our clients
Direct strategic, client specific initiatives which deliver "values add" services through the execution of client business plans
This role is a key contributor to the annual strategic client planning process and works with the overall Optum Life Sciences business to execute, update, and refresh the plan throughout the year
Ability to adapt to constant change, while focusing on organizational priorities and exceeding annual goals
Develop and monitor client financial performance and profitability

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of successful sales/ business development experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and / or Healthcare Industry
3+ years of experience in building productive relationships with senior and executive level stakeholders
History of successfully engaging, learning, and selling to Emerging, Mid, and Large Pharmaceutical Markets
Proven advanced consultative selling skills with the ability to successfully construct solutions
Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop strategic approaches to connect and present our value offerings to clients
Demonstrated ability to effectively message, position and influence clients
Demonstrated ability to work across internal functions (including legal, finance, operations, and business team) with a high level of collaboration
Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience selling real world clinical and claims data, and selling solutions supported by real world evidence generation
Experience selling solutions for clinical trials teams
Experience selling to commercial teams (Market Access & Brand Teams)

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
