Civil Drafter/CADD Specialist

Alta Science & Engineering, Inc. is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for a Civil Drafter/CADD Specialist position to be based out of any of Alta's offices (Moscow, Kellogg or Boise, Idaho). This position supports a variety of civil and environmental engineering consulting projects. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, personable, and detail-oriented.

This is a Regular Full-Time (40 hrs/wk) benefited position.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Work closely with engineers to develop plans and specifications for grading and drainage, municipal roadways and utilities, reclamation and habitat restoration.
• Produce plan sets that include georeferenced imagery, alignments, surfaces, third party information and other features of civil design packages.
• Generate detailed plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software.
• Assist with preparing project deliverables (e.g., technical reports, memoranda, design documents, and bid packages) to communicate design methods, technical justification, and project status to clients, contractors, etc.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism during interactions with Alta staff, clients, and other stakeholders, as applicable.
• Provide timely communication with supervisor regarding work-related matters.
• Actively promote good Health and Safety practices

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in civil drafting, bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar
• Experience preparing construction plan sets following various agency standards.
• 2+ years' experience civil drafting including earthwork, grading plans, utilities.
• Understand coordinate systems and be able to import third party data to CAD software.
• Expertise with AutoCAD / Civil 3D
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work productively in a team environment and on multiple projects

Desired Qualifications:

• Software proficiency certificates for AutoCAD suite
• Experience with CERCLA remediation projects
• Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
• 40-Hour or 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) with current 8-hour refresher training

Salary Range

$55,000 - $68,000 per year (Depending on experience)
