Chemical Technician I

Kelly is hiring a Chemical Technician I for one of our clients in Naperville, IL

• Onsite

• Typical 8am - 5pm w/ 1h lunch; 8hr days; flexible w/in 40hr/week target

• 6 month contract (potential to be converted to perm based on headcount)

• Pay: $23/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Hands on wet bench chemistry, chemicals handling, and preparation of solutions/dilutions

• Routine analytical characterization and data analysis

• Assist in the synthesis and analysis of ion exchange resins

• Perform organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, and wet chemistry experiments

• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experiments and results

• Analyze data using Excel and prepare reports and presentations using Word and PowerPoint

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth laboratory operations

Qualifications:

• B.S./B.A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field

• Candidate must be able to work as a part of a team and will typically report to 3-5 principal investigators over the course of their tenure.Hands-on experience with organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, and wet chemistry techniquesPerform laboratory testing under the supervision of scientists and project leadersAssemble test materials and equipment to expedite test proceduresMaintain Standard Operating Procedures and make recommendations for their improvementassist in maintaining the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratoryPreferred Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for data analysis

• Must be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results, while building a network of resources in the company

• Hands-on experience with instrument setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously
