    Chaplains provide spiritual care to patients, families and caregivers fostering spiritual resources for healing. Spiritual care is a component of healing, so meeting others where they are and helping them during troubled waters is a vital part of a Chaplain's role.

    A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 4:30pm.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will

    • Provide education and consultation for physicians, nurses and other caregivers.

    • Provide spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and caregivers of all faith groups, ages and conditions.

    • Foster spiritual resources for healing.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

    • Completion of at least four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.

    • One year of ministry experience.

    • OR a bachelor's degree, three years of ministry experience, satisfactory completion of one or two units of Clinical Pastoral Education and the expectation to get four CPEs within two years of hire.

    • Certification as a board-certified Chaplain ( ~~~ ) or eligibility within two years or certification as an ACPE Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education.

    • Ability to work on-call and regular work hours.

    • Ability to provide crisis and ongoing care.

    • Skills: empathy, critical thinking and communication

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

    • Master's degree of divinity or equivalent.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

    • Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.

    • Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
