    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Provides direct patient care and support as part of the health care team.
    • Observes the patient's physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports any changes as appropriate.
    • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
    • Serves a population 4 months through geriatric.
    • Proficient in Special procedures, Cystoscopy, Endoscopy, GYN, ENT, and General surgery procedures.
    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Patient positioning
    • General surgical equipment
    • Ability to apply the basic principles of patient care
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    • Graduate of accredited surgical technology program,
    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • 1 year of Surgical OR experience
    • AS in Surgical Technology
    REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
    • Current certification for surgical technologist in the State of Kansas
    • Healthcare Provider BLS through AHA or ARC before start date

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR CATH LAB
    • Regular and holiday call is required
    • 30-minute response time when called in
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • Regular and Holiday call is required for CSTs in OR, CVOR, Endoscopy and Perianesthesia.(No call is required for staff assigned to PASS.)
    • CSTs assigned to OR, CVOR and Endoscopy require a 30 minute response time when being called in.
