    Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Assistant program. State of Maine Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.

    Description: MSAD #11 is looking to hire a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to work District-wide. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of effective occupational therapy programs, under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist, to improve student capacity to access their school setting.

    Professional Responsibilities
    Administer therapeutic exercises, techniques, and activities based on the student's individualized treatment; Observe, document, and report on the student's progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition; Instruct students, staff, family members, and caregivers in strategies and exercises to improve the student's functional independence in home and community environments;

    Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of student's care services, including progress notes; Work closely with the OT and other school staff team members to ensure a coordinated approach to student care, contributing to goal setting and treatment modifications as needed; and Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of therapy equipment and treatment areas

    Additional Responsibilities include: Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders; Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, families, and healthcare professionals; Possesses the ability to problem-solve and adapt to the individual needs of students; and Possesses compassion, empathy, and patience in dealing with students undergoing therapy.
