    he Milford Public Schools District is actively searching for an Instructor for our growing Therapeutic Services Pathway, which includes a Certified Nurse Assistant Program at the high school level. This pathway is part of the Career and Technical Education(CTE) Department and includes a series of courses for our high school students. Our pathway prepares students for a variety of careers in healthcare in which they may be eligible to obtain certifications and/or participate in internships in many of the areas of allied health. Students that successfully complete the CNA course are eligible to take the state's Nurse Assistant licensing exam. The selected individual in this position will provide instruction to students in the program and supervise their participation in the clinical portion. This position will be availabe August 26, 2024.

    Minimum Qualifications: All applicants must have the following:

    • Current CT certification Health Occupations-Comprehensive High School - 103 (Candidates holding CT Certification Health Occupations - Vocational Technical Schools - 109 may be eligible)
    • Bachelor's degree in a Health Occupation
    • 1 year of experience in a Health Occupation.
    • Current Health License
    • Registered Nurse with at least 2 years experience, one of which must be in licensed chronic convalescent and nursing home

    Preferred Licenses and Experience:

    • Current LPN or RN license
    • Teaching experience and/or interest in teaching

    Applicants should be able to show knowledge to teach:

    • Introduction to Allied Health Professions(UCONN ECE)
    • Medical Terminology
    • Certified Nursing Assistant Program

    Performance responsibilities include:

    • Maintaining student records including attendance and grades.
    • Establish clear learning intentions and success criteria for learning
    • Utilize formative assessment to monitor and adjust instruction
    • Design and implement lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic real-world business situations
    • Monitor and evaluate students' progress in relation to curriculum expectations
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with students, parents, fellow teachers, school counselors, non teaching personnel, and administrators.
    • Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs as required.
    • Stays current with education and pedagogy and seeks opportunities to share professional learning with colleagues.
    • Initiate and maintain contact with area medical facilities for the purpose of promoting programs for job shadowing, CNA clinicals, advisory panel participation, etc
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
