  • Overview:

    • Full-time / 1.0 FTE / 80 hours biweekly
    • Variable hours between 8am and 6pm
    • Floats between Janesville, WI, Milton, WI and Walworth, WI

    Able to accurately input patient information, insurance and Rx information into PFW. Order OTC and Rx and returns as needed using SMO. Displays thorough third party knowledge including specific requirements for successfully billing Rx's. Accurately prepares daily bank deposit. Maintains change fund balance and petty cash balances. Blister packing for group homes. Greets customers in a professional manner. Accurately enters sales into the cash register. Assists pharmacist with filling prescriptions. answers and forwards phone messages properly. Restock inventory, Rx supplies. Accurately files Rx's. Accurately processes refill prescriptions on PFW. Maintains a clean pharmacy. Deliveries to customers with proper payment collections. Performs other duties as assigned under the direction of the pharmacist.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoots all insurance/Rx denials.
    • Maintains petty cash and change fund balances.
    • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles/blister packs with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles/blister packs.
    • Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
    • Receives and stores incoming supplies. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
    • Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer or hospital patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer.
    • Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.

    Education and Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Graduate of a pharmacy technician program preferred.
    One year of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

    Certification and Licensure

    Pharmacy Technician Licensure required
    Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Certification through NHA required.

    Computer skills
    Good interpersonal skills
    Good interpretive/analytical skills for medication dosage calculations, etc.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to feel, finger, handle, or grasp items for fine motor skills; reach with hands and arms, and talk/ hear. Must be able to crouch or squat to reach items. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
