The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Research Associate positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of protein biochemistry, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, metabolism, and animal models of cancer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of the regulation and functions of cellular metabolism in cancer cells and stem cells, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, metabolic analysis, and animal models.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Additional information may included that the candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
