Position Summary:
The Senior Specialist II, Category Demand Planner is responsible for a successful execution in all aspects of inventory procurement including weekly model level forecast, which requires collaboration with many key areas of Samsung Electronics Canada business such as SCM, Sales, Product Management, Logistics and Global Operations including HQ and multiple Factories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of category/model level forecasts weekly utilizing inputs from Sales Demand, Product Management (which includes market sensing and market expectations), channel analysis, target objections HQ guidelines and Global/local KPIs.
Translates and relays all communication from all factories related to correlated products in terms of requirements, changes, delays, production planning, QC/gate out delays, and forecast changes.
Translates and relays all communication from GOC/RPM Team related to correlated products in terms of requirements, changes, delays, production planning, QC delays, and forecast changes.
Identify and communicate supply constraints in a timely manner and create recovery plans that are applied to maximize results and achieve the best outcome
Validate the forecast through various analysis (historical, seasonality etc.) to facilitate demand consensus across the division and within assigned product categories. This will also include INV Shorts due to high channel WOS and suggest the adjustment of S/O and S/I.
Participate in establishing monthly CMF/SP/TP planning by collecting and reporting financial revenue projections with BM/HQ (GOC/RPM)
Manage weekly GI Target Setting and work with Logistics and SCM in order to overachieve expected results
Inventory optimization within distribution centers (Within correlated Samsung Product Categories)
Analyze demand trends to accurately forecast needs, minimizing stock out and excess stock situations
Present a consistent rolling minimum 5 month view reviewing Supply Plan, Sales Demand, Fillable Results compared to Target Planning, Stretch Target Plan and Previous Year Results
Report Aging progress and identify gaps to plan and ensure appropriate recovery plans are developed by key stakeholders as well as identify site specific measures and shifts to reduce overall % and hit company Targets
Establish Cost Saving Initiatives by allocating SOP to right site (East WH/West WH/DS)
KPI Monitoring, simulation, communication and analysis for best possible outcome. (KPIs such as Forecast Accuracy, consensus, RTF Rates, Sales Bias and WOS)
Create weekly reports in support of leadership and internal stakeholders such as DP Summary, Delta/Consensus, Buffer availability within lock period after all Demand, etc. to drive informed decision making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for CTN management and successful RTS launches
Coordinate with SECA Logistics to ensure timely inbound for all expected shipments. Request expedite shipments as required to maximize Fillable Demand and meet customers' expectations and RDD
Responsible for identifying areas of improvement with strategic and thought-out improvements to SCM process to ensure best practices and automation are fully integrated into Samsung's daily operations.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
Experience:
Experience managing a product category from a Supply Chain Management perspective
