    APX Construction Group is seeking to hire full-time, experienced Finish Carpenters (Interior) for our Mankato and surrounding area projects. Using your carpentry skills, you finish baseboards, casing, crown moulding, hardware, window trim, door trim, and more. You also install stair rails, doors, vanities, and cabinets. Because you apply the finishing touches to each project, your eye for detail is essential to ensure that everything is done right and to our company standards. Superior craftsmanship is always a top priority.

    Job Summary

    The Carpenter is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints in order to select the appropriate tools and material for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Metal and wood framing
    • Perform demolition
    • Install commercial doors, windows, and other fixtures
    • Install and troubleshoot hardware and other equipment/devices as needed
    • Build and/or repair cabinets, vanities, shelves, doors, and other wooden objects
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
    • Install windows, doors, trim, hardware, and other fixtures
    • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures
    • Follow safety guidelines and procedures on all job sites
    • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and metal
    • Operate hand and power tools and other equipment

    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Experience

    · High school diploma or equivalent

    · 2+ years' experience as a finish carpenter, preferably in Commercial construction

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    · Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    · Knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use.

    · Good teamwork and collaboration effort.

    · Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.

    Environment

    Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    • 40-50 hours per week starting at 7am at the jobsite
    • Monday-Friday, overtime at different times throughout the year

    Preferred experience will include OSHA 10, OSHA 30, VALID DL, and ability to pass background check, drug screen, physical and MVR.
