Carpenter/Maintenance Tech

Monument Enterprises is seeking a talented Carpenter and a Maintenance Tech in the Metro area with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial & Residential Property Maintenance.  The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to be a team player, must be reliable and self-motivated, must have strong communication, must be well-organized, and must have knowledge of all facets of maintenance.

Requirements include Carpenter/Maintenance Tech:

• Providing carpentry & repair services to HOAs, condominium communities, and commercial clients to include rough and finish carpentry, flooring, drywall, cabinetry, light electrical, and light plumbing.
• HVAC & Plumbing experience is a plus
• Interacts with clients and provide exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations
• We are seeking energetic, reliable, and positive team members who are willing to learn new skills and enjoy working in a variety of different environments

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of General Carpentry experience (for Carpenter)
• Minimum of 2 years of  Property Maintenance/Repair (for Maintenance Tech)
• Experience doing remodeling work is helpful as it presents a variety of different situations
• Ability to perform labor-intensive work – often working in dirty conditions
• Must have own basic carpenter tools (for Carpenter)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry materials
• Ability to work overtime when needed and respond to emergency situations after normal work hours is required
• Seeking candidates who reside within 40 miles of our office

Dress code: * Long pants (jeans), work boots that come up around the ankle, shirts provided by Monument Enterprises

• Personal Protection Equipment: will be provided by Monument Enterprises

Requirements: * Must be able to pass drug screening

• A background check may be required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Bilingual candidates will be paid a premium.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of US $ and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
