    We are looking for a talented Calibration Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Morristown, TN.

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Ensuring Accurate Calibration : By coordinating the calibration process and maintaining traceability, you'll ensure that all Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) are accurately calibrated, which is crucial for reliable measurements.

    • Quality Control : Leading gauge capability studies and developing calibration procedures will help maintain high standards and consistency in measurement processes.

    • Optimizing Calibration Cycles : Applying statistically optimized calibration cycles will minimize data quality risks and maximize the availability of M&TE, enhancing overall efficiency.

    • Hands-On Calibration : Performing calibrations using established procedures ensures that all equipment meets the required standards, contributing to the reliability of the lab's outputs.

    • Training and Development : Providing training on M&TE calibration and maintenance processes will empower other lab personnel and customers, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled team.

    • Maintaining Accurate Records : Utilizing the M&TE management system to maintain accurate inventory and calibration records ensures that all data is up-to-date and easily accessible.

    • Participating in Quality Programs : Engaging in inter-laboratory comparisons and Measurement Assurance Programs will help maintain the lab's quality system and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

    • Technical Support and Guidance : Acting as a technical resource for day-to-day lab operations and providing support to engineering and quality staff will ensure smooth and efficient lab operations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Dimensional Metrology : Apply dimensional measurement science to develop and implement measurement and inspection processes. This will ensure capable measurement results that support design validation and conformity assessment, meeting regulatory, customer, and product requirements.

    • Electrical Metrology : Utilize electrical measurement science to create and apply measurement and inspection processes. This will help deliver accurate measurement results, aiding in design validation and conformity assessment.

    • Measurement Science : Analyze measurement processes throughout the traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty. This will involve applying various branches of metrology, such as chemical, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, optical, radiation, and physical.

    • Mechanical and Dimensional Metrology : Implement measurement science in developing and applying measurement and inspection processes. This will ensure capable measurement results that support design validation and conformity assessment, meeting all necessary requirements.

    • Physical Metrology : Apply physical measurement science to develop and implement measurement and inspection processes. This will ensure accurate measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment.

    • Laboratory Management : Lead technical resources while managing the business aspects of the laboratory. This includes using measures to control both technical and business aspects and ensuring compliance with appropriate certifications and accreditations.

    • Technical Leadership : Provide guidance and support to technical staff, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to perform their tasks effectively.

    • Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest developments in metrology and laboratory management. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and outcomes, ensuring the lab operates at peak efficiency and accuracy.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

    A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.

    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Additional Information:

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products essential to completing job tasks.

    Previous work experience in a calibration lab in a manufacturing environment preferred.

    Previous working knowledge of IATF requirements for calibration preferred.
