Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Calibration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing, calibrating, and maintaining precision instruments and equipment. You will conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot, and adjust instruments as needed. Additionally, you will document calibration procedures, results, and any necessary adjustments to ensure equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all in-house gauge calibrations.

• Conduct routine inspections and document calibration procedures and results.

• Troubleshoot and adjust instruments to ensure accuracy.

• Maintain the gauge recall system, including documentation.

• Review technical data to create a list of gauges required for jobs.

• Perform mechanical calibration with 0.001 inch tolerances.

• Utilize Bore Gage and Screw threads experience.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of experience measuring and calibrating gauges, vernier, and other precision instruments.

• In-depth knowledge of metrology specifications and practical application.

• Advanced technical drawing interpretation.

• Practical knowledge of Gauge R&R and Measurement Uncertainty calculations.

• Understanding the effects of environmental conditions on measurements.

• Knowledge of AS 8879 UNJ Profile, MIL-S-8879 Controlled Root radius, MIL-S-7742 Standard, FED STD H 28 Sections: -1/-2/-4/-6/-20, ASME B1.1-1989 Unified Inch, ANSI B1.9 1973 Buttress Inch, BS 4084 1996 UNJ Threads, ASME B 89.1.5 1998 Measurement of Plain External Diameters, ASME B 1.3 M 1992, ASME B 89.1.13 2001 Micrometers, ISO -1 Quality Assurance Requirements for Measuring Equipment, ANSI Z 540-1 1994 Calibration Laboratory and Measuring and Test Equipment General Requirements.

Work Environment

This position is based on a 40-hour per week schedule, typically Monday through Friday, but may include rotating shifts based on business needs. Additional or overtime hours may be required. Our work environment is dynamic and may require flexibility to accommodate business demands.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Kitchener, Ontario.
