    Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, CJTF-HOA located OCONUS via DJIBOUTI, Africa with supporting duty in Kenya, Africa. This position is required to travel OCONUS.

    The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The Inside/Outside Plant Fiber Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and related equipment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and integrity of our fiber optic network, contributing to the seamless delivery of our services to customers. The candidate will be required to install, splice, terminate, and test copper/fiber optic cables in both enduring and tactical environments. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing copper/fiber optic infrastructure. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and proactively address them to prevent service disruptions. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate implementation of network plans. Utilize various tools and equipment, such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, and cable placement equipment, to carry out tasks effectively. Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including splicing records, test results, and network diagrams. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Respond to emergency situations, including outages and network failures, to restore services promptly. Assist in the planning and coordination of new fiber optic projects, including route planning, equipment procurement, and resource allocation.

    You'll Bring These Qualifications:

    Be a current US Citizen (no waiver)

    Currently hold an adjudicated Secret (no waiver).

    DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance (Security + Certification, equal or higher)

    BA/BS +3 yrs recent specialized or AA/AS +5 yrs recent specialized or a major cert + 7 yrs recent specialized or 9 years of recent specialized (Inside/Outside Plant)

    Fiber Optic experience desired

    Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year

    Read and understand Blueprints in both hard copy and softcopy using AutoCAD.

    Understand Fiber splicing tools, procedures, and methods for ordering supplies.

    Installation of OSP within the DoD and Naval shore installation practices.

    MS VISIO and AutoCAD experience to maintain network and cable records.

    Have basic understanding in OSP installation practices.

    These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have

    Current Certified Fiber Optic Specialist (CFOS)

    Certified Fiber Optics Installer (CFOI) or Fiber Optics Technician (FOT)

    Certification from the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) or the Electronics Technician Association International (ETA-I), or an equivalent training certification from an accredited technical/trade/service school certifying Fiber Optic training and qualifications in accordance with NECA 301-2004 Installation and Testing of Fiber Optic cable standards.

    Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.     The proposed salary range for this position is

    $68,400-$143,700
