Buyer (Entry-Level)

General Summary

Performs a variety of routine and/or low dollar value buying/purchasing tasks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

• Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and/or services for the company *

• Reviews purchase requisitions *

• Places orders for supplies, etc. with approved suppliers *

• May assist with evaluation of bids and/or recommend suppliers.

• May coordinate with accounting department as needed to resolve questions on supplier's invoices.

• Provides routine administrative support.

• May assist in research and negotiations with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications regarding minor purchases.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred

• 1-2 years of related experience

• Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures

• U.S. Citizenship required; Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field

• Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint

• Knowledge of FAR based contracts and procurement requirements

• Experience with desktop applications within a Microsoft TEAMS environment
