  • Overview

    Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking contracted Business Support Specialists to support the Child Welfare Division in Maine.

    The purpose of this position is to ensure resource parents, child care providers, and others that provide critical services for the state child welfare services office have an account with the State of Maine that allows for expeditious reimbursement/payment.

    Pay Rate : $25/hour, 40 hours per week. Equivalent to $52,000/year salary.

    13 paid holidays per year

    Up to 10 days of accrued PTO, based on assignment duration.

    *Please note that this pay range represents a good faith estimate of the compensation that will be offered for this position. The actual pay offered to a successful candidate will take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, qualifications, and additional preferred experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties may include but are not limited to

    • Providing one-on-one assistance and support to a variety of providers to ensure successful, accurate completion of vendor form, direct deposit form, and other pertinent documents to ensure successful account activation.

    • Entering documents into the MainePays system

    • Tracking submissions and ensuring resource parents, district child welfare staff, and other vendors are updated regarding status of account and subsequent payments/reimbursement

    • Collaborating with DAFS and OSC, to ensure successful account activation and resolution of any payment/reimbursement issues

    • Conducting research within a variety of information systems to determine the cause of non-activation of account and/or barriers to successful reimbursement/payments

    • Implementing plan to mitigate any non-activation of account

    • Investigating and resolving payment issues when impacted by account issues or as requested

    • Supporting and providing backup when necessary to other mem

    Minimum Requirements

    To perform these duties, you must have strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and computer skills, as well as great attention to detail. You will need to be able to work independently, as well as effectively with your team members and have a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service. To qualify, your background must include:

    • Prior experience working with technical information/data such as financial, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), etc

    • Prior experience working within technical systems such as accounting, information management, etc

    • Prior experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

    • Prior experience performing data analysis and tracking

    • Prior experience providing customer service.

    • Ability to perform work accurately and employ methods of review/proofreading for errors.

    • Ability to conduct research within a variety of systems to reach conclusion and/or resolution regarding vendor status which may include account status, disbursement type/status, and/or payment inquiry.

    • Ability to review and implement rules as they apply to business processes.

    • Ability to communicate with and assist individuals that may be frustrated or struggling with business processes/policies.

    • Ability to interpret and communicate rules/business processes to others in a way that is easier to understand.

    • Ability to work with confidential/sensitive information

    Preference will be extended to candidates possessing the following skills/experience :

    1. Prior experience working for State of Maine.

    2. Prior experience working with Maine's Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (MACWIS and/or Katahdin)

    3. Prior experience working with Maine's accounting system, Advantage.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am-4pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, or 8am-5pm. This position carries the possibility of remote work.
