    Job Description:

    The NIH Office of Management (OM) is undertaking an initiative to document and standardize Business Information Management Support (BIMS) processes to enable administrative digital transformation activities across multiple workstreams. Additionally, as part of an integrated Continuous Improvement Model for BIMS processes, this initiative will be used to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. This implementation will impact many stakeholders across the organization and requires operational knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) delivery for the enterprise with foundational knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) toolsets.

    As a member of the Business Information Management Support (BIMS) team, the Advisor will directly advise and assist the Administrative Systems Technology Officer (ASTO) in the documentation and replication of BIMS best practices throughout the program management lifecycle.

    HOW A BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

    • Document and recommend standardization of processes

    • Develop and implement recommendations for improvements

    • Develop documents and provide inputs to program documents in collaboration with BIMS Program Teams, OM Leadership, and the ASTO

    • Implement a detail-oriented, problem-solving framework in a multi-workstream environment

    • Communicate performance gaps, as well as create, execute, and track the activities required to close those gaps for all workstreams

    • Create professional communications products of all types to support required actions for successful integrated program and project management

    • Solicit feedback and drive discussion from high-level stakeholders with competing interests

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Education: Technical Training, Certifications or degree

    Required Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience

    Required Technical Skills

    • Lean, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification

    • ITSM or ITIL certification

    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint

    Security Clearance: Ability to acquire Level 5 Public Trust

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • Experience exhibiting professional diplomacy, while effectively relating to people at all organizational levels internally and externally

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Must have good problem-solving skills

    • Must be able to work effectively independently and in teams

    • Experience in managing multiple tasks

    • Flexibly adapting plans to a dynamic environment

    Preferred Skills

    • Prior experience working with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), or another HHS OpDiv on IT projects

    • Knowledge of goal alignment for IT and Business strategies to identify potential risks and identify strategic integrations to achieve optimal outcomes for both

    Location: Remote; you must be able to travel to Maryland at your own expense to pick up the NIH badge.

    The likely salary range for this position is $99,450 - $134,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
