    WSP USA Buildings, Inc., an award winning and innovative multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is looking for a Building Technology Systems Consultant specializing in Revit production for structured cabling, audiovisual security and code required communications systems. Locations such as Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA, San Francisco and Irvine, CA will be considered. WSP works closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on digital transformation, sustainability, and energy performance of the built environment.

    Provides support to technical staff, engineers, and project managers for the design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of smart building projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of intelligent technologies using a converged network approach, and systems that make predictive and automated decisions that impact building capabilities including access control, acoustics, audio systems, security, and video surveillance. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding assigned equipment, installation, integration, and operation specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality for building inhabitants.

    Your Impact

    • Analyze client challenges at the intersect of business and technology.

    • Support Client stakeholder engagement, including ideation workshops, stakeholder value identification, brand alignment, and identification design requirements.

    • Develop user journey and touch point maps, including creation of graphical deliverables to communicate these journeys to client stakeholder groups.

    • Provide support to Building Technology System engineers (Structured cabling systems, Electronic Security,

    • Audio Visual, Network) to identify operational outcomes and functional benefits their systems could have for the end-client.

    • Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements.

    • Create design narratives and coordinated, construction documents (Drawings and CSI Specifications).

    • Participate in project meetings (local and out-of-town) with the design team and clients.

    • Potentially participate in construction meetings, review and respond to Technology system submittals and RFIs.

    • Coordinate integration of security and telecommunications systems with other intelligent building systems. (BMS, Lighting control, AV etc.).

    • Appreciation for local, national or global best practice codes and industry standards (WELL, BREEAM, SPIRE, NEC, IBC, BICSI, EIA/TIA) related to the design and operation of Security and Telecommunications systems.

    • Support the lead consultant in engaging clients for creating and delivering the value message for potential and existing Smart Building/District/City projects.

    • Support multi-disciplinary smart building/district/city type pursuits, creating business development materials inclusive of project approach, scope, and fees.

    • Participation in development of deliverables for artificial intelligence-ready building projects including evaluation of client key performance indicators, integrated automation product research, information flow diagram development, and controls system integration.

    • Collaborate and assist with developing Integrated Automation designs including converged networks for facility related control systems (BMS, Energy Metering, Occupancy and Space utilization insights).

    • Support (technical or from a business outcomes perspective) in OT network design engineering with respect to WAN/LAN/WLAN, VLANs, VPNs, internet access, remote access services, wireless connectivity, directory services, network security, VOIP telephony and related technologies.

    • Research and validate technical capabilities of potential smart building technologies (including analytic platforms, energy and sustainability reporting tools, computational modeling etc.)

    • Investigate connections and analytic methodologies between energy efficiency, real estate utilization and occupant experience driving business efficiency and revenue opportunities.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Desired bachelor's degree in engineering, business, architecture, planning, design, social science or equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry.

    • 1 - 3 years' work experience actively consulting and or designing technology-related solutions. Integrator or specialty consultant experience would also be considered.

    • High proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam are required. Proficiency in ACAD is also desired.

    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Design experience related to Structured Cabling Systems, Security, Audiovisual, Nurse Call, and DAS is a plus but not required.

    • Knowledge of TIA/EIA, Bicsi and FGI standards and guidelines is desired

    • Knowledge of local. State and national building codes is desired.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.

    • Experience working directly with clients, including architects and building owners.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.

    Compensation

    Expected Salary (all locations): $78,500 $105,000

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
