    Your Opportunity

    Reporting to the Business Center Practice Leader (BCPL), the Building Science Practice Lead is responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of work to our clients. The Practice Lead is accountable for the top line and leads the growth of the Building Sciences services and Stantec's market position while providing innovative design solutions with exceptional quality and execution that meet/exceed client expectations.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for meeting/exceeding client expectations through strong account management across the Building Sciences team and personally leading accounts for major clients in the BC.

    • Achieve minimum client- and proposal-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) sales goals, including internal cross-selling initiatives.

    • Ensure a minimum of 4 client feedback surveys are conducted per year and issues are addressed through implementation and follow through on action plans.

    • Lead and participate in pursuits and campaigns for major BC opportunities.

    • Drives the client relationship strategy, working with other Building Sciences team members and leaders to drive strong results in the client satisfaction survey within the respective BC.

    • Actively contributes to win strategies and successful project execution. Becomes involved in key pursuits as needed and on projects should issues impacting client satisfaction or project management best practices. Tracks pursuit success rate and "return-on-investment rate" on client-by-client basis

    • Leads growth of the BC through developing and leading the business development, key pursuit and sales strategy and holds other team members accountable to expand our reach and client base utilizing strong marketing, business development, sales account management plans.

    • Responsible for developing and managing the marketing and business development (M&BD) plan for Building Services within the BC including cross selling.

    • Increases visibility of Stantec by sharing our knowledge and innovation story through key client engagements to enhance our reputation and drive revenue.

    • Establishes an effective Go/No Go Review process with team members and track compliance of Go/No Go Process

    • Partners with other BCPLs and leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and business lines

    • Responsible for utilizing and ensuring the opportunity Pipeline is maintained and monitor to optimize business development plans and employee utilization rates

    • Develop and Maintain Stantec's Integrated Practice in the specified BC, which includes:

      • The maintenance of a cohesive Stantec brand,
      • Key client and Account development and maintenance,

      • Market and community outreach and engagement.

    • Accountable to achieve organic growth targets of the Building Sciences team.

    • Inspires, motivates, and holds the team accountable for the delivery of innovative design solutions

    • Responsible for driving project excellence

    • Leads or assigns responsibility for oversight of project delivery, QAQC, discipline excellence and technical quality, documents quality and best practices in the execution of work.

    • Responsible for assigning responsibility for design excellence to foster innovation, sustainable design principles and use of technology.

    • Responsible for compliance with Project management (PM) Frameworks.

    • Actively supports the management, needs assessment and provision of digital practice resources, tools and applications to deliver work.

    • Actively engages and collaborates with the Discipline Leader for Carbon and Climate, the Discipline Lead for Building Sciences, and other Discipline Leads to increase the value of the Building Sciences within the markets we operate in and pursue.

    • Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner and a source of counsel and advice for the Building Sciences team.

    • Be personally involved in key client relationships, strategic project pursuits and major project leadership within the Business Center.

    • Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec's high-performance culture with a focus on innovation, speed, and productivity.

    • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

    • Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and focuses on the customer and service delivery.

    • Provide support through ongoing collaboration with Leadership regarding resolution of operational issues identified within the Business Center.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Demonstrates strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss technical and business concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive level technical decision maker; articulates ideas and solutions clearly when dealing with complex and uncertain situations.

    • Politically astute and able to understand the business development and operational requirements in client relationships.

    • Strong business development and marketing background, including strong client and employee interface capabilities.

    • Sound industry network and significant reputation in the industry.

    • Demonstrates strong critical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to create, convey and successfully deploy engineering and business strategies and problem solving.

    Education and Experience

    • 15 years of consulting specifying engineering, focused in the area of the practice and is widely recognized as having extensive knowledge and leadership of engineering/consulting practices including extensive experience in managing design projects and teams.

    • BS/Masters Degree in engineering.

    • Relevant Licensure and Certification for market segment
