Building & Maintenance Tech - Part Time

Purpose of Work:

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the physical plant and equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions and Duties:

Perform highly diversified duties to repair and maintain physical facility.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance and carpentry functions.

Communicate and/or coordinate building maintenance/issues with Director of Laboratory Operations/VP of Operations.

Communicate and/or coordinate equipment maintenance/issues with Department Managers.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper management.

Coordinate and oversee service/repairs of building & equipment performed by outside service providers.

Obtain and/or coordinate with Purchasing to obtain necessary materials/parts/ supplies.

Document all applicable building and equipment maintenance/repairs/service on appropriate logs.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Familiar with the Quality Management System and quality policies.

Knowledge of safety program procedures.

Other Job Duties:

Perform Assembly Line Production duties as assigned.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications of the Position:

Education:

Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and physical plant maintenance experience.

An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.

Experience:

4+ years of experience in building maintenance

Some electrical, mechanical, plumbing and industrial skills.

None

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to interact with all levels of mechanical and electrical contractors.

Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Knowledge in construction and building maintenance.

Ability to multi-task effectively

Physical Requirements of the Position:

Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

$25-$35 per hour depending on experience
