Bucksaw Operator, Bay Springs, MS

Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to

join our team as a Bucksaw Operator in Bay Springs, MS . Starting rate for this position is $21.33 per hour based on skill level and experience.

What You'll Do

• Make sure saw operates in a manner that generates maximum productivity.

• Ability to assess log length and cut log to maximize value, output and yield

• Recognize defects in the log and cut accordingly.

• With training, must be able to achieve 9-10 blocks per min on a consistent basis.

• Grease saw equipment and use preventive maintenance.

• Fill out down time reports.

• Adhere to all safety regulations especially lockout/tagout.

What You'll Offer

• High School education or GED equivalent preferred

• General mechanical aptitude.

• Able to complete operator certification.

• Commitment to maintain a safe work environment without compromise.

• Able to climb up and down from equipment.

• Recognize problems and have them corrected immediately.

• Understand the importance of teamwork and have a positive impact on the team.

• Open-minded and positive in dealing with change and new ways of doing things.

• Able to communicate effectively with your team and other departments.

• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.

• Must be able to work flexible hours

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking, Stairs, Bending and Lifting (Up to 50 lbs).
