  • Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous Bookkeeper in Danville, California. This position entails overseeing the company's full financial processes, including managing journal entries, reconciling expenses and incomes, and preparing financial statements. The ideal candidate will also handle payroll processing, accounts payable, and reporting. Experience in property accounting is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the full charge of the company's financial processes, including managing journal entries, closing and opening books at the beginning and end of accounting periods, and issuing financial statements.

    • Reconcile expenses and incomes regularly to ensure all financial records are accurate.

    • Supervise small accounting or financial teams, including clerks responsible for accounts payable or receivable and payroll.

    • Use accounting software effectively for data entry.

    • Audit and verify all bills and invoices to ensure accuracy.

    • Reconcile client accounts on a monthly basis.

    • Support bi-weekly employee payroll services.

    • Resolve any financial discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Prepare annual 1099 forms.

    • Assist and support off-site accountant with documents and reports for taxes and annual reviews.

    Skills

    • Proficiency in TOPS software

    • Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

    • Experience with Monthly Account Reconciliation

    • Knowledge of Property Accounting Requirements - Proficiency in TOPS software for property management accounting

    • Extensive experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)

    • Demonstrated ability in executing monthly account reconciliation

    • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with property accounting

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines

    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills

    • Working knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred

    • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role

    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
