  • Description

    Boilermaker is responsible for the assembly, disassembly, repairs and maintenance of boiler systems. Can successfully demonstrate both knowledge and skills as listed below in accordance with generally accepted industry standards as required.

    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to determine the layout of boilers, pressure vessels, and other large containers

    • Construct, assemble, maintain, and repair boilers, tanks, and other vessels made of metal, including steel and aluminum

    • Perform brazing and soldering using various techniques and equipment

    • Install and maintain boiler systems, including pipes, valves, and fittings

    • Perform routine maintenance on boilers and other vessels, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary

    • Inspect and test boilers and other vessels for leaks, cracks, and other defects

    • Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with boilers and other vessels, including wearing protective equipment and ensuring proper ventilation

    • Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in the construction and repair of boilers and other vessels

    • Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and pipefitters, to complete projects

    • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used

    Qualifications

    • Understand and carry out oral instructions.

    • Read and carry out simple written instructions.

    • Read and carry out complicated written instructions.

    • Work at varying heights

    • Operate complex equipment and power tools.

    • Operate small equipment and power tools.

    • Must pass Burns & McDonnell assessments to be eligible for position

    • Must have 3 years of experience as Boilermaker
