    Position Summary

    Provide and coordinate the education of Basic Life Support to promote outcomes consistent with HRH goals.

    Job Duties

    • Coordinates, delivers and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals

    • Collaborates with managers and staff to assess the learning needs of staff and new hires

    • Serves as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development

    • Maintains credentials required for certification as per American Heart Association

    • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies

    • Ability to teach Classes often. (monthly is recommended)

    • Upon scheduling of a class, prepare necessary materials and equipment.

    • Set up classroom.

    • Transport & clean equipment.

    • Administer exams; keep all exams safely secured at all times.

    • Sends/delivers certifications to participants.

    • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office access to AHA Atlas site.

    Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements

    • Credentialed by the AHA as Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.

    • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience as a BLS Instructor preferred.
