The Billing Representative is responsible for continuous support within Revenue Cycle department.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

This will be on-the-job training and the hours during training will be aligned to their schedule from Monday - Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Enter manual charges for various providers / departments.

• Resolve charge errors in Work Queues and submit as appropriate for reimbursement.

• Identify and report charge issues to Manager with regards to trends and issue to be resolved with the build team

• Knowledge of CPT's and ICD - 10 diagnosis codes

• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial insurance billing rules

• Maintain appropriate documentation activity in accounts

• Working within a team environment

• Other duties as requested

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED

• Must be 18 years of age OR older

• 2+ years of experience with healthcare billing

• Data entry experience and ability to handle heavy data entry requests daily

• Windows PC experience and the ability to learn new complex computer software systems easily

• Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with multiple billing guidelines

• Epic experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

• Excellent with written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prioritize and multi - task

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to handle data that is available, and within given turnaround times

• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and guidelines
