    Job description

    The Billing Data Specialist is responsible for ETL functions (extracting, transforming, & loading) and maintaining data integrity. This includes downloading of files, then transforming files to become usable data, and loading files into the database in order to draw useful information from. De-duplication is important; maintaining billing account information for customers enrolled in cardiac device home monitoring services. The Billing Data Specialist will enter all new or update patient demographics (names, address, and contact and insurance information, device and equipment information) that is needed. The Billing Data Specialist will contact patients with remote programming billing questions. In addition, the Billing Data Specialist will perform other administrative functions, such as insurance verification, and prior authorization activation, and maintaining manufacturer websites, reporting, and remote scheduling.

    The Billing Data Specialist Responsibilities would include:

    • Validate and ensure data quality and accuracy on an ongoing basis
    • Strong analytical reasoning skills to assess and implement information from multiple sources
    • Assist in documenting data creation and maintenance procedures
    • Responsible for accuracy, efficiency, and maintain information through custom software
    • Input updated data as received by technicians or customers
    • Review and audit daily task assignments and ensure next steps for customers or technicians
    • Assist customers and technicians with troubleshooting
    • Reconcile monitoring encounters to EMR systems ensure quality controls
    • Any other tasks assigned

    Education, Work Experience and Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED is required
    • Medical Assistant certification preferred
    • Medical Assistant in Cardiology preferred
    • Must be able to work in-office
    • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and Word
    • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in a climate-controlled environment
    • Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, and using a mouse. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of an office environment. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with all members under varying circumstances.

    Environmental, physical and psychological requirements:

    • Utilizes computerized systems for research, tracking, information gathering and / or troubleshooting (i.e., Excel / Word programs, legacy systems, internal systems, third party vendor delivered systems, etc.).
    • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
