    When you join the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division (COGMD), you're joining a global team that helps to power the global energy industry as well as provide power and propulsion on the water.

    This role ensures that all material requirements for assigned products are satisfied within the allocated time frame.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Coordinating with production support staff to close out bill of materials for customer requirements. Serving as focal point for identifying and resolving material issues.

    • Reviewing and acting on material release. Developing and maintaining bill of materials and associated data.

    • Preparing bills of material; ensuring timely delivery of component materials needed to support production requirements.

    • Verifying customer requirements; coordinating material acquisitions and shipments to assure availability for the manufacturing process.

    What You Have - Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences:

    Core Application Systems : Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

    • Manages application-related issues, implications, and approaches with clients.

    • Evaluates key interfaces and interdependencies among core applications systems.

    • Explains features and benefits of core applications for consideration by business units.

    • Implements existing and planned application enhancements in major business units.

    • Tracks data flow between own applications and core applications in other business areas.

    • Plans enhancement, conversion, and retirement strategies for core applications.

    Service Excellence : Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

    • Provides a quality of service that customers describe as excellent.

    • Resolves common customer problems.

    • Responds to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action.

    • Provides direct service to internal or external customers.

    • Documents customer complaints in a timely manner.

    • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.

    • Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.

    ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) : Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; ability to design and implement ERP systems for managing an organization's internal and external resources and facilitating the flow of information between various business functions.

    • Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of an organization's own ERP system for further improvement.

    • Consults on how to effectively integrate ERP systems with other platforms within the organization.

    • Evaluates the ERP system's best practices to learn its principles and applications.

    • Resolves all technical and administrative problems that occur throughout the ERP design and implementation process.

    • Advises the ERP design team on ERP systems requirements.

    • Monitors all ERP users to comply with established operational guidelines and standards.

    Manufacturing Application Systems : Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.

    • Uses and maintains information or data stored in specific application; reports unusual situations.

    • Documents the major interfaces and dependencies to and from other systems.

    • Follows procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the databases.

    • Uses all basic features of the information system in context of own work.

    • Works with a specific type of manufacturing application or information system.
