  • Description We are seeking a Benefits Customer Service Associate to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. In this role, you will assist city employees and retirees with health benefits during the annual open enrollment period. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and will perform a variety of office support and customer service tasks. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist city employees and retirees on the open enrollment phone lines to enroll, cancel, or change their health care benefits on the Benefits System.

    • Respond to telephone inquiries and assist callers to make health benefit changes online.

    • Accept and review required documentation such as birth and marriage certificates, and approve documentation online.

    • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently.

    • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, dealing with a wide variety of individuals in person and on the telephone.

    • Deal with difficult customers with tact and diplomacy.

    • File and maintain records, and sort and distribute mail as necessary.

    • Utilize skills in Benefits Administration, Benefits Coordination, Open Enrollment, and Call Center Customer Service.

    • Have knowledge of Healthcare terminology, medical health insurance, and Medicare eligibility.

    • Use Microsoft Office Suite and computerized data entry systems. Requirements - Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant role

    • Proficiency in Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination

    • Demonstrated experience with Open Enrollment processes

    • Previous experience in a Call Center Customer Service role

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask

    • Proficient in using computer software and applications

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • High attention to detail and accuracy

    • Problem-solving and decision-making skills

    • Willingness to continue learning and improving skills in Benefits Administration

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
