  • UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is looking for a Behavioral Health Therapist I for our Crisis Services Acute Need and Diversion Services team ( CSANDS )!

    Our CSANDS team provides support and services to those who do not find traditional outpatient crisis care beneficial. This 30-day, OP diversion program, created for those 21 years of age or older provides essential and expedited care through therapy, crisis follow up services and medication management. Therapy services are offered weekly either in office, or within the community.

    Following program completion, our team of dedicated coordinators ensure further supports are in place to provide our patients with opportunities to succeed. Examples of these supports can include, but are not limited to arranging referrals, providing ongoing crisis counseling and coordination with community providers.     Crisis Services Acute Need & Diversion Services | UPMC Hamot (~~~)

    As the Behavioral Health Therapist I , you will play a key role in our patient's recovery through effectively assessing, evaluating, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy to this target population. In this role, you will partner closely with our CSANDS team members, who will support, provide guidance and share their expertise as you grow in your career. As a Behavioral Health Therapist I , you will be provided the opportunity for supervision for clinical hours to apply toward licensure.

    The Behavioral Health Therapist role is eligible for a sign on bonus up to $10,000!

    Responsibilities :

    Clinical Assessments & Treatment:

    • Conduct patient assessments and make clinical decisions under supervision.

    • Create comprehensive treatment plans addressing individualized patient needs.

    • Provide individual and group therapy, engage families, educate patients on recovery.

    Collaboration and Communication :

    • Review cases and patient condition changes and participate in treatment team meetings with supervisor and clinical team.

    • Discuss additional services needs with clinical team and make referrals as needed.

    Quality Assurance & Documentation:

    • Document all patient interactions and case management activities.

    • Complete clinical documentation and provide required information for service authorization.

    • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code).

    • One year of clinical experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.

    • Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination. Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
