POSITION: BEHAVIOR COACHSCHOOL/PROGRAM: HOLMES HIGH SCHOOL DATE POSTED: NOVEMBER 11, 2024APPLICATION DEADLINE: THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEARQUALIFICATIONS:- Hold Kentucky certification or be eligible for certification for consultant assignment:
- Master's degree or non-degree fifth-year program
- Certification in the appropriate subject field or service
- Preferred (5) years of professional teaching experience at the appropriate level
- Minimum of (2) years' experience as a successful leader in instruction, classroom management, and trauma informed care (e.g., department chair, district-level committee work, resource teacher, etc.)
- Proficient in intervention management software and Google programs; Google certification preferred
- Familiarity with Trauma Informed Practices, MTSS Tiered Models, analyzing data, general education interventions for all 3 Tiers, threat assessments, CHAMPs, and Social Emotional Learning.
- Expertise in effective teaching & de-escalation strategies and strong crisis communication skills.
- Able to coach/model classroom management strategies and design/deliver professional development.
- Safe Crisis Management trained.
Responsible to:Building Principal in collaboration with Assistant Superintendent for learning support
SUPERVISES: Not ApplicablePERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning.
- Continually provides professional development to teachers in their classrooms, during team planning, and/or after school.
- Coaches teachers by modeling a variety of evidence & research-based behavioral strategies.
- Assists in program evaluation of position effectiveness.
- Facilitates collaborative team meetings to assist teachers in developing behavioral learning outcomes.
- Works collaboratively with other professionals in the school and district.
- Provides school improvement support to close achievement gaps.
- Observe classrooms and collaborates with teachers to improve behavior management techniques, as well as encourage the fostering of positive teacher-student relationships.
- Help to provide focus on the priority needs of resources and the allocation of those resources.
- Identify and provide professional development on a continuous basis.
- Monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at school site, including the identification of students, delivery of Tier 2 and 3 interventions, and progress monitoring.
- Compile and report on effectiveness of interventions on a monthly basis to improve district and school systems.
- Help establish data collection and analysis procedures through a data system to inform decision-making around student needs and district/school resource allocation.
- Participate in appropriate district-wide activities, initiatives, and systematic instructional support meetings.
JOB GOAL:- Assists schools in strengthening PBIS & Behavioral MTSS processes through a strategically planned, evidenced-based approach with a focus on narrowing the achievement gaps. This position will provide leadership in the areas of behaviors, curriculum, instruction, assessment and planning
