    What you'll do.. .

    • Contribute to a team highly engaged in all aspects of battery materials and sensing research using experiments and modeling.

    • Participate in the complete process of battery material synthesis, characterization, processing material into pouch and coin cells, and testing for electrochemical performance.

    • Candidate must possess a background in Li-ion batteries with experimental skills in material and cell characterization (i.e., battery cyclers, glove boxes, EIS, etc.). Also required is a deep understanding of the chemical processes and mechanisms within batteries from formation to end of life.

    • Battery material synthesis experience using modeling at various length scales from molecular to electrode level using fundamental kinetics/thermodynamics and modeling tools such as Matlab, COMSOL, molecular dynamics, and/or density functional theory is beneficial.

    You'll have...

    • Master's degree in electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related or foreign equivalency degree

    • 3+ years of years hands-on laboratory experience ( internship/Co-op/Coursework included)

    • 1+ year of experience with battery chemistry, cathode materials, and battery cell build/testing.

    • 1+ years of experience working within a laboratory facility utilized by multiple users.

    Even better, you may have...

    • PhD in electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related fields.

    • 5+ years of years hands-on laboratory experience ( internship/Co-op/Coursework included)

    • 3+ year of experience with battery chemistry, cathode materials, and battery cell build/testing.

    • 3+ years of experience working within a laboratory facility utilized by multiple users.

    • Experience in the complete process of battery material synthesis, characterization, processing material into pouch and coin cells, and testing for electrochemical performance.

    • Experimental skills in material and cell characterization (i.e., battery cyclers, glove boxes, EIS, etc.).

    • Deep understanding of the chemical processes and mechanisms within batteries from formation to end of life.

    • Battery material synthesis experience using modeling at various length scales from molecular to electrode level using fundamental kinetics/thermodynamics and modeling tools such as Matlab, COMSOL, molecular dynamics, and/or density functional theory is beneficial.

    • Ability to anticipate and plan 2-3 months ahead regarding equipment / material lead times and testing needs.

    • Excellent data analysis and interpretation capabilities.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    This position is a range of salary grades Salary Grade 6-8 .
