Work you'll do
As an Azure/Databricks Data Engineering Project Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying secure, maintainable, and reliable software in the form of executable functions (Azure Functions) across a cloud infrastructure that houses sensitive data and models that support mission critical operations. You will be involved in full spectrum analytic technical support to mission operations and the intelligence lifecycle: requirements collection and refinement, translating user requirements into technical requirements, environment configuration, exploratory data analysis, model development, selection, and evaluation, identifying insights from analytic products and then communicating those results to a nontechnical audience. To that end, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify relevant and permissible data sources, access available infrastructure, and to develop analytic products tailored to mission user requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical in your ability to collaborate with your technical colleagues and building rapport with the customer.

The GPS AI & Data Operations offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
10+ years of of experience managing enterprise data management infrastructure, to include managing on-premises systems and cloud migration efforts
10+ years of experience in configuration and administration of enterprise level data stores, ETL methods, batch and streaming data transport, and API development
10+ years of experience with data technologies to include but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Oracle, SQLServer, and Azure Database services
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Experience utilizing program and project management tools, such as TFS/Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Microsoft Project to plan, execute, and measure projects.
Demonstrated experience overseeing enterprise level data operations, ideally of similar size and scope to this contract
Proficient in agile development methodologies and have demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers
Experience in developing and executing action plans to ensure security compliance and respond to findings if they occur
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $126,000 to $210,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
