  • Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Manulife Canada Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead the marketing team of Manulife Canada's Individual Insurance business. You'll be leading in a fast-paced matrix environment driven to acquire and retain customers through breakthrough marketing across traditional and innovative media channels working with our sales, product, research, customer/advisor experience and analytics teams to drive sales and retention of our Insurance products and solutions.

    You will be a key member of the Canada Marketing Leadership Team and the Individual Insurance Leadership Team, providing strategic input across the business.     Key Accountabilities:

    • Marketing Strategy, Planning and Activation

    • Lead the end-to-end marketing planning for the Individual Insurance business, including vision, strategy and campaigns, that will deliver breakthrough marketing to help drive target business outcomes

    • Accountable for the planning, development and execution of go-to-market strategies, including program/product launches, expansion, and customer engagement initiatives

    • Work collaboratively across marketing, the Segment and with agency partners to develop an integrated marketing plan for Canada; integrated across businesses, audiences (customer, advisor, plan sponsor etc.), and channels

    • Work with the Marketing Leadership Team and the Global Marketing team to develop the overall marketing strategy for Canada Segment

    • Activate the company brand mission across touch points in the customer journey

    • Drive brand consistency and governance across the segment with application within Individual Insurance

    • Individual Insurance Business Strategy, Planning and Operations

    • As a member of the Individual Insurance Leadership Team, contribute to the development and implementation of the Individual Insurance business strategy and plan, leveraging your marketing expertise and general business experience

    • Understand business objectives and bring the full Manulife marketing organization to bear and contribute to achieving these objectives

    • Work closely with Research & Insights team to enhance understanding of customer perceptions, preferences and behaviours with emphasis on priority segments

    • Translate customer and competitive insights into actionable marketing briefs that ensure insight driven marketing

    • Leadership and Development

    • Direct leadership of a team, while working collaboratively across marketing, the Segment, and with corporate partners

    • Inspire, coach, and guide employees; build culture and employee engagement to create a better marketing organization

    • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment; encourage proactive sharing of tools, knowledge, and insights

    • Establish accountabilities and performance standards; actively manage performance, providing formal and informal feedback and coaching to build a high performing team

    • Identify key capabilities and talent needed for success; foster employee development and growth; actively recruit talent

    • Measurement and Budgeting

    • Oversee annual marketing budget for the Individual Insurance business; own and manage marketing spend through budget management

    • Optimize marketing spend to deliver strong marketing return on investment and to deliver revenue and earnings targets

    • Work with Digital Analytics and Research & Insight teams to measure and evaluate campaign effectiveness, while optimizing through real time marketing approach

    • Develop and track to scorecards to monitor delivery against target business outcomes; continually assess what is working and not working and pivot accordingly

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Bachelor degree in business or marketing with a graduate degree (MBA) preferred

    • Minimum of 10 years progressive strategic marketing experience, specifically in brand and activation

    • Demonstrated experience in marketing strategy and planning, with experience in delivering fully integrated, results-driven marketing campaigns

    Salary range is expected to be between

    $126,600.00 CAD - $235,300.00 CAD
