    Job Responsibilities

    • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately

    • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming for vehicle functionality and longevity

    • Recommend future maintenance requirements and advise clients on proper vehicle use

    • Repair or replace broken, damaged or missing parts and repair issues (e.g.leaks)

    • Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job

    • Keep logs on work and issues, including warranty concerns

    • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

    • Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist

    • Diagnose issues based on drivers' descriptions and vehicle performance

    • Keep up-to-date with developments in automotive technology to ensure continuing innovation and efficiency

    • Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards

    • Ensure health and safety practices are observed in all tasks and procedures

    • Communicate with clients about vehicle problems, diagnostic tests, and repairs

    • Collaborate with other repair team members to ensure the timely completion of services

    Requirements:

    Job Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred

    • Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic

    • ASE certification preferred (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence)

    • Proficiency in using various hand tools, precision measurement tools, and shop equipment

    • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

    • Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)

    • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

    • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles

    • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

    • Ability to read and understand complex technical manuals and schematics

    • Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects and work in cramped spaces

    • Valid driver's license

    • Good communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical individuals

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

    • Strong problem-solving skills and detail-oriented

    • Basic computer and reporting skills

    • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge through continuous education and training

    Compensation:
    The Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $25 and $50
